Timeline

November 2008, Marching Mountains begins with an idea the founder has at work while sitting at the computer.

December 2nd, 2008 - Marching Mountains incorporates in the state of Minnesota.

December 25th, 2008 - The Marching Mountains Documentary is filmed in Preston County, West Virginia.

January 23rd, 2009 - MarchingMountains.org web site is launched.

March 18th, 2009 - Marching Mountains receives 501(c)(3) status from the IRS.

June 14th, 2009 - Project Marching Mountains begins phase one of its out-reach goal.

June 15th, 2009 - Marching Mountains forms a Board of Directors

August 6th, 2009 - Marchingn Mountains receives its first musical instrument donation

Jan 26th, 2010 - Mailed over 300 letters to each school in a distressed county in Appalachia to introduce the band directors to Marching Mountains

August 18th, 2010 - Completed our first musical instrument distribution of donated instruments and made a documentary of interviews with the band directors

September 22, 2011 - Completed our second distribution of 25 instruments!
